CAH302 week12

As the last week in this semester, we have a persentation to share all the projects with each other. Through the presentation, we have a communication with everyone to share the experience from doing the projects.it gives me a deep impression to have a look the projects that were created by other classmates, especially the "Karma" and the horror movie from IK. These two production are amazing for me, from the editing, background music and even animation effection. I also learn a lot from watching other people's production, what did they prepare befor the production and some fresh idea to do the same project. For New Media, good idea always important for creating and designing. In this Uni, i got a lot of study experiences, i believe that it will benefit for my future study.Thanks to Peter that he supports a good opportunity for me to improve myself in this semester.  

CAH302 week11

Time is flying, only one week to go in this semester. From the first project “Being A Territory” to “Musical lecture”, this semester I got many experience on editing and using camera to recording. As the last part of musical lecture that is exporting from Final Cut Pro. We should export two times, first time for a complete lecture which start with introduction and finish with the exercise and range part. another one we should export the different part separately. So when they are uploading on Learnline, students could watch them based on the different part. it supports a clearly and convenience way for student to study online. This is the first time we work on this kind of project- like a online tutorial. It is benefit for us and the future study. It provides a situation for us to practice on digital media and improve our communication skill.

CAH302 week10

This week Tuesday, we re-shoot the “Exercise” part of Stephan’s music lecture. As I mentioned before, we miss the front shoot of this part at the first time so that we redo it again. Anyway, it is a good thing for us to get more experience for the future study. In this music lecture, it is divided into 4 parts which are Introduction, piano part, Guitar part and then Exercise and Range. Till now, the main thing for us is that to work on the editing part. as a kind of online tutorial, Stephan’s lecture explain the study of intervals that it is very important in the understand of melody. According to the notes of the scale that from “doh” to “te”, it is a necessary basic knowledge for every student. The aim of Stephan’s online learning lecture is that to encourage the interest of music study and gain confidence of students. In the modern time, online tutorial is becoming more and more popular. It supports a convience and quick way for student study online anytime, anywhere.

CAH302 week9

This week, cheng mum and I, we start to do the editing about the music lecture tutorial. In the first editing of this project, we put all the videos and audios together according to the time line. After that we had over view the lecture. One part of this lecture is not very perfect that it is the ending of this lecture. The ending of this lecture is talking about the music exercise about “C”. But from our first shooting resources, we only got the piano keyboard shoot and the back of lecturer. in order to fix this part that students cannot see the face of lecturer, we will have another shoot day to record the front shoot of the exercise part. in the second shoot activity, we will have s piano keyboard shoot by using the web camera and front shoot by using the camera and master sound recorder.

CAH302 week8

This week is a challenge for me and Jingwen. We collected all the sources at Tuesday. 8.20am, we catch up at Uni and went to Damin’s office to bring all the equipments. After that we straightway to the recording lecture room which is located at Orange 6. Because it is the morning time, the lighting is good enough for us to recording this lecture without light equipments. Setting up all the equipments is the most important part during this recoding. There are four cameras which recorded the front shoot, blackboard shoot, Guitar part shoot and piano part respectively. One of the cameras was connected with a Master sound recorder. We also had a small camera which was connected a Macbook for recording the keyboard of piano. During the setting up, one of the problems is that the adjustment of audio level. Because this is the first time for us to recording the audio by using Master sound recorder, we spent some time to try the best sound level. After all the equipments were set well, we start to record this musical lecture. We only spent one time to record this musical lecture. Even the beginning of this lecture, St had a little nervous, but it looks fine. We also re-shoot some specific parts such as the Guitar part and the piano so that we can use the sources for the after editing.

CAH302 week7

This week, we were organized to meet with Stephan at Thursday afternoon. Because I had another lecture on every Thursday afternoon, so I miss the first time to meet with him. Anyway, after my lecture, I caught up with ChengMum. She told me everything about the meeting. We will have 4 cameras for recording Stephan’s lecture. One for the front shoot, one for the side shoot, another one for recording the keyboard of the piano. After collect all the resources, we also need to do editing and it will become a online tutorial for music study for student on learnline. Cheng Mum also took me to have a look the room which we will have shooting and the lecture room. The room looks good, but the light maybe not good enough. So we booked the lights as well. In case, we booked all the equipments already so that we can make sure everything prepare well before we start working on it.

CAH302 week6

This week, we start to move on the second project for Independent study which is the one I will work as a group with Jingwen. We had a short conversation to talk about what we need to do in this project. The main thing we will do in this part is that to show a musical lecture for “Learnline”. So that students could study relative musical knowledge by watching the online tutorial. 3 cameras were required, one for the front recording the lecture, another one for the beside recording, the third one for recording the hand of the lecturer when he play the piano. We also need a master audio recorder to record a high quality sound resource from the lecturer. Before we start recording we will organize the best location of recording and make sure the light is good enough for the final product.  We also need to have a practice before the recording. After recording, we should work on the editing of the resources from the 3 cameras and a master audio recorder. Anyway, that  sound a challenge work for us in Media study.
